Role Overview
The Director, Field Access leads Medexus’s national Field Access Manager (FAM) team with a focus on executing institutional access and operational readiness for treosulfan U.S. transplant centers (BMT/HSCT). This role ensures transplant centers have the workflows, systems, and operational capabilities required to adopt and maintain therapy. Responsibilities include EMR build support, protocol and treatment-plan readiness, billing and reimbursement workflows, pharmacy and supply operations, and multidisciplinary coordination across complex BMT institutions. The Director partners closely with the Market Access Strategy team to align field execution to enterprise access priorities and ensure consistent, compliant implementation across institutions.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
·      Lead, coach, and develop a national team of FAMs, ensuring high-quality, consistent institutional access execution.
·      Build team capabilities in BMT workflows, reimbursement troubleshooting, operational onboarding, and cross-functional communication.
·      Establish expectations, field cadence, and standardized processes to strengthen execution discipline.
 
Transplant Center Execution & Operational Readiness
·      Oversee and ensure that transplant centers are fully operationalized for treosulfan use, including:
o  Transplant committee and P&T processes
o  EMR order-set development and protocol/roadmap builds
o  Coding, billing, and inpatient/outpatient reimbursement workflows
o  Pharmacy stocking, product handling, and operational feasibility checks
o  Infusion, nursing, and clinical operations coordination
·      Troubleshoot access barriers escalated by FAMs, ensuring timely resolution through cross-functional collaboration.
·      Support transitions of care between inpatient and outpatient settings as required for therapy continuity.
 
Execution Alignment with Market Access Strategy
·      Translate enterprise Market Access priorities into actionable field execution plans.
·      Ensure consistent and compliant deployment of:
o  value communication materials
o  approved HEOR resources
o  operational readiness tools
o  formulary and workflow support materials
·      Provide structured, objective field insights to Market Access Strategy to inform payer, institutional, and operational planning.
 
Cross-Functional Coordination
·      Collaborate closely with:
o  Trade & Specialty Pharmacy on distribution and ordering pathways
o  HUB/Patient Services to support case workflow and benefit navigation
o  Medical Affairs to ensure appropriate scientific exchange and support
o  Therapeutic Leads and Commercial Operations (as applicable) to align center engagement and field messaging
·      Participate in cross-functional planning and launch readiness activities related to transplant center implementation.
 
Operational Excellence & Field Governance
·      Develop and maintain standardized onboarding processes, field tools, account planning frameworks, and documentation expectations.
·      Track institutional activation progress, EMR readiness, issue resolution timelines, and other operational KPIs.
·      Ensure field execution adheres to all regulatory, legal, and compliance standards.
 

Qualifications
·      Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MHA, or similar) preferred.
·      7–10+ years of pharmaceutical experience with significant experience in navigating complex market access issues, including profiling institutions, building relationships with key access decision makers, and building strategies to ensure patients access across the US.
·      Demonstrated success supporting complex sites of care, particularly transplant or oncology centers.
·      Strong understanding of:
o  EMR treatment plan and order-set workflows
o  Inpatient vs. outpatient reimbursement models (DRG, APC, case rate, medical benefit)
o  BMT/HSCT center operational and clinical structures
o  Pharmacy, infusion, and revenue-cycle processes
·      Proven leadership experience managing field-based teams.
·      Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and project management skills.
·      Ability to operate effectively in a lean, high-complexity, specialty-pharma environment.
 

Additional Information
·      Compensation range: $240K–$260K
·      Up to 40% travel
